Food Diary of a Happy Lady!!!

I had every intention of logging my food eaten, but alas, I am erratic at best and before I know it, days have gone by and I haven't done as pledged.

However, let me just say that moving to a Paleo/Primal diet has made such a difference in my health that we are definitely sticking with it!  What you need to know, though, is that the way my kitchen smells right now, I can not wait to eat dinner!  But my belly's full from lunch!!!

Tonight I made "Happy Stallion," from the "fast paleo" website.  If I don't watch out, I'll just be a day behind their posts.  :)  Still to make: blueberry breakfast cake, and so many other things.  You just have to google "Paleo" and the food item and up pop so many great recipes!

We are getting ready for July 4th.  Some friends are coming over as a last hurrah before they have to PCS (aka "move") to Hawaii.  We are really going to miss them.  On the menu:

Meats:  hot dogs (we just have to), burgers, and brats.  They are not Paleo, and will be shocked by our lifestyle change!
Veggies/sides:  Grilled asparagus and turnip/rutabaga fries, and carrots/celery for the kids and weak at stomach.
Dessert: curlygirl's easy Paleo chocolate birthday cake as we test out different birthday cakes for Girlie's 6th birthday party, and this honey pecan ice cream.
It was so funny!  My friend then offered to bring something like mac and cheese or baked beans, neither of which are Paleo!  I'm not sure exactly how to answer, although I know that they might appreciate having some carbs, seeing our weird spread.  :)  I sure hope they consider going Paleo.  :)

More later.  I have a lot to cook tonight.

- Prep honey ice cream
- Get a banana pancake recipe for the morning
- Prep chocolate cake mixture
- Chop turnips and rutabagas
- and oh, by the way, finish unloading the dishwasher and folding two loads of laundry!!!
