LHTH Unit 5: Young Joseph

We enjoyed relating to the story of Joseph, his beautiful multi-colored coat, and how God protected him and took care of him despite his brothers' jealousy and meanness in throwing him into the well and selling him to slave traders.

I so enjoyed seeing my children process the immense jealousy of the brothers and learn that God doesn't want us to engage in jealousy either.

The kids loved making the letters on the ground and bumping around them on their bums.  We even made a heart at Girlie's suggestion!  :)  She then converted it into an ark.  I guess since it was a letter review week, that works!  ;)

We tried food coloring on coffee filters, but I think I got too much water and not enough food coloring.  Note to self - make sure it's really concentrated color, especially on brown filters!  However, the children knew no differently and had the BEST time making their many-colored "robes."

I just love this simple, easy-to-use program.  Just when we think it's summer and we "should" take a break, we find that school is so easy to use and adds so much to our day, we just can't think of NOT doing it!

I just love LHTH and love to see what others are doing with it as well. I've done that unit twice now and enjoyed it both times! (I also sometimes hand print the count on me sheets. lol)

Hee hee! It is easier sometimes when you (I) forgot to make the copies! ;) Thanks, Dusty! Glad to see you over here!
