LHFHG Units 10-11

We actually did a full week of school this week!!!  YEA!  If you knew our struggles we have had trying to get into a routine and do school, you'd know how monumental this task is.  :)

We finished Unit 10, and here's a picture of Shana experiencing refraction (Unit 10 - Day 2, when Belshazzar asked Daniel about the writing on the wall):

We also really enjoyed the camouflage exercise from Unit 10, Day 3, when we talked about animals' camouflage in light of Daniel in the Lion's Den.

Next, we moved into Unit 11, Jesus's birthday!!!  YEA!!!

So, here John is singing the "months of the year" song (before his somersault for the month of May):

Here's Shana's current handwriting, from A Reason for Handwriting Book A.  We are a bit out of order, but just because Shana's been resistant to do it at all.  She likes it perfect, or artistically-decorated.  This is currently the longest part of our day.  I do it before any of the other right side, because I want to get it over with!  It can just drag down our day.  I have had to tell her to wait to be artistic until she is completely done with her handwriting.  Oh well.  We are consistently working on this.  :)

And we're also a bit ahead on math.  Shana's just started halves and wholes, so today she did EarlyBird 2A page 72.  Great job coloring, Shana!

Our verse for this unit is Luke 2:52, "And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and all mankind."  We really LOVE this verse because it's the one we pray over ourselves as we go to bed, "help me to grow in wisdom, stature, and in favor with You (God), and all mankind."  I'm glad my kids get to see that Jesus grew that way!

We had such a great week!  I think we are turning the corner on our routine!!!  :)
